Final week of world class Queen's Hall concerts
Festival 08's Queen's Hall series has left some of the best concerts to last. Don't miss your chance to experience mesmerising musicians from around the world perform every day this week in the intimate surrounds of the Queen's Hall.
On Wednesday 27 August at 11.00am, hear Sweedish Mezzo Soprano Katarina Karnèus and pianist Johan Ullèn perform folk-inspired Love Songs by Polish composer Karol Szymanowski and song settings by Respighi, Grieg and Strauss.
On Thursday 28 at 11.00am, listen to Festival favourite Steven Osborne perform a piano recital that continues to celebrate the centenary of Olivier Messiaen with 5 excerpts from his Vingt regards sur l'enfant Jesus.
Hear the Jerusalem Quartet's Festival debut in the Queen's Hall on Friday 29 August at 11.00am. Come and experience these energetic, youthful chamber music masters perform a lively programme of Haydn, Smetana and Brahms.
Don't miss the closing concert in the Queen's Hall on Saturday 30 August at 11.00am, featuring Beaux Arts Trio who first appeared in Festival in 1960 and have since performed over 6000 concerts over the course of their extraordinary career. In this special concert they will perform chamber music from Mendelssohn, Kurtág and Beethoven.
