Fire Starter Revealed
30 August 2008
The winner of the Forth Radio competition to set off the fireworks was revealed this morning as nine year old Morgan Bevis from Livingston. Yesterday the youngster met up with the creative minds behind the Bank of Scotland Fireworks Concert, Wilf Scott and Keith Webb of Pyrovision, who showed her the all important button. Morgan will set off more than 100,000 fireworks, four tonnes of explosives and hundreds of firing sequences at 9pm on Sunday 31 August at Edinburgh Castle. The fireworks concert will be accompanied by music from the Scottish Chamber Orchestra who will play a program of Brahms' Hungarian Dances and Dvořák's Slavonic Dances.
The hugely popular event, which has been sponsored by the Bank of Scotland since 1995, was watched by more than 250,000 people last year. To listen to an interview with Morgan Bevis and Keith Webb visit our multimedia gallery at www.eif.co.uk/multimedia.
