Muse on Mondays 

8 December, 12 January, 9 February, 9 March, 13 April, 10.30am, Cafe Hub. Suggested minimum contribution £1.

Join fellow Festival supporters for this informal drop-in event. Tea, coffee, biscuits and great company! No booking required.

We are delighted to be able to continue the 20% discount to all Patrons and Muses at Cafe Hub.  Please present your membership card to cafe staff before you place your order to receive 20% discount on your Cafe Hub bill.

Patrons and Muses Christmas Lunch at the Royal Terrace Hotel

Thursday 11 December, 1.00pm, Adam Suite, Royal Terrace Hotel, 18 Royal Terrace.

Tickets £25 to include 3 course lunch, two glasses of wine and tea or coffee to finish.

Bookings for this event must be made by Thursday 4 December.

Relax and enjoy this leisurely lunch with fellow Festival supporters in this private space at the Royal Terrace Hotel. Three scrumptious options are available for each course including traditional fare with all the trimmings and a vegetarian option.

Festive Cheer

Tuesday 16 December, 7.00pm - 8.30pm. Trianon and Versailles Suite, Caledonian Hilton Hotel

Tickets £14. Bookings for this event must be made by Tuesday 9 December.

The Christmas Tree-O is back by popular demand! Comprising Justine Davies (violin), Jonathan Harris (piano) and Nicky Pritchett-Brown (cello) the trio will perform a mixed programme of music

including classical, rag-time and Christmas carols. Mulled wine and festive canapés will be served.

Do come and join us for a relaxed evening of merry making.

Technical Tours of Edinburgh Festival Theatre

Friday 6 February 2009, 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Tickets £6 to include a cup of tea/coffee following the tour

Tours last approximately 1 hr.

In the spring Patrons and Muses event programme John Robb, the Festival's Head of Technical gave a fascinating talk describing the technical requirements, considerations and magic of Festival productions! Enhance your insight into the goings on behind the scenes of our productions with this tour of the Edinburgh Festival Theatre where the musical Blood Brothers will be in performance at the Festival Theatre. John will share his expertise with you, giving you both an insight into the performances of Blood Brothers and Festival performances. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment!

Please note for health and safety reasons and for your own comfort please wear sensible shoes for this tour.

Champagne Reception to Celebrate the Launch of Festival 2009

Friday 27 March, 6.00pm - 8.00pm Cafe Hub. Tickets £18 to include two glasses of champagne and canapés.

Join Festival Director Jonathan Mills in celebrating the launch of the Edinburgh International Festival 2009 and hear more about the ideas surrounding the Scottish Enlightenment which influenced his programming.

Day Trip to East Neuk Festival  

Following the success of this year's Patrons and Muses day trip we are planning a visit to the East Neuk Festival in 2009. We expect this to be on Friday 3 July. Those on our emailing list will be contacted automatically with updates about plans for the day trip, so please make sure we have your email address if you may be interested in coming along.
